What if it's raining? We'll go in a light to medium rain but a heavy rain may affect our plans - if in doubt, call our Outings Line at 544-7284 (then press 1) after 10am. If no special message, it's a go!

Join LandPaths and the Ag +Open Space for an autumn hike through the crunch of fallen leaves in the oak woodlands of our Riddell Preserve in Healdsburg. Naturalist extraordinaire and hike leader, Dale Englehorn, is joining us to share her wealth of knowledge about the variety of oak species growing at  the 400-acre preserve.

Dale worked as an arborist at the Santa Rosa Junior College on a team tasked with safeguarding the magnificent Valley Oaks. Later she ran a California native plant nursery at Ya Ka Ama; it was there that she fell in love with annually making acorns into food after learning how to to collect and process acorns into meal by several Kashaya Pomo elders. Dale Englehorn is also a small business owner of the Sonoma County based, Seed-O-Sphere Flower Seed Balls. Through her hand crafted seed balls she helps spread gorgeous tapestries of blooms in peoples gardens. Check out her website for more information.
