about TrekSonoma in general...

Overview of TrekSonoma

LandPaths offers Sonoma County residents and visitors an opportunity to join an expert guide on an  unparalleled outdoor adventure with TrekSonoma - three days spent walking or paddling across our local landscape with friends new and old, entirely apart from the automobile. TrekSonoma offers a chance to experience the landscape as a connected whole - to see it as habitat for wildlife, plants and humans alike. It's a rare chance to grapple firsthand with a patchwork of barriers and access points that both humans and wildlife face when traversing the land and waterways of our county. In an attempt to expand the concept of connectivity, TrekSonoma is dedicated to weaving private landowners, local businesses, and agriculture into the trekking experience.  Gear is shuttled, allowing participants to spend the day with only a daypack, as we focus on local food and vistas, celebrating the great natural resources and agricultural landscapes of Sonoma County. You may learn more on the LandPaths website: www.landpaths.org

Volunteer Roles

Volunteering with TrekSonoma is a way to help contribute to building a more interconnected, accessible landscape in Sonoma County.  Some volunteer task examples include: shuttle kayaks and/or people before and after treks; taking inventory of trek gear after trek; and preparing meal ahead of time; helping set up camp before trekkers arrive; and helping cook and clean in the camp kitchen. At times, there may also be opportunities to volunteer with the broader TrekSonoma project of building connectivity between landscapes, land owners and communities.
