Stewardship Workday at Ocean Song

 

We are taking extra precautions in response to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Wednesday, November 4th

Come lend a hand at LandPaths' newest preserve! With it's beautiful native grasslands, lush gardens, oak woodlands, and views for miles, Ocean Song is an ecological and cultural treasure. Join us for a morning of stewardship and community at this beautiful preserve!

Tasks may include opening a new trail, fuel reduction work, or grassland restoration.  No experience necessary but due to covid-19 protocols we ask that you please bring your own work gloves and tools if you have them.  We will have clean extras if you do not.  Useful tools for this workday include loppers, hand saws, mcleods/metal rakes, and pole saws.  No power tools please. 

Meeting Time,  Location & Directions:
We will meet at 9:00 am at the preserve entrance at 19100 Coleman Valley Road

Directions to Ocean Song –  From the town of Occidental, head west on Coleman Valley Rd for 1.8 Miles. At the stop sign, turn right to remain on Coleman Valley Rd and continue an additional 3.4 miles to the main entrance to the preserve.

The Driveway will be marked by a LandPaths sign
Staff or volunteers will be at the entrance to direct you to parking.

What to Bring:
Picnic lunch, snacks & water, backpack
Sturdy boots or shoes that can get muddy
Work gloves, eye protection
Hat and sun screen 

Mask and hand sanitize
Your tools if you have them, 
Details Details:

You will be asked to sign a liability waiver.
There is a restroom on the property
There is no potable water available on the property.
No pets or smoking are permitted.
