Give nature a hand! Come and join us at the stunning, 1,000-acre Bohemia Ecological Preserve for a day of stewardship, community-building, a bit of exercise and some fun! This workday we will focus on removing French Broom. This invasive species outcompetes our native understory plants and adds the fuel ladder. By removing it, we are helping our native plants and reducing the risk of a canopy fire.
No experience necessary. LandPaths will provide other necessary tools. If you have any tools at home, you may bring them. No power tools please!
Meeting Time, Location & Directions:
We will meet at 9:00 am at the Grub Creek entrance of Bohemia Ecological Preserve (6407 Bohemian Highway)
Directions to Bohemia Ecological Preserve – The Grub Creek entrance to Bohemia Preserve is located on Bohemian Highway approximately 2.5 miles north of Occidental. From the intersection of Graton Road and Bohemian Highway, drive north on Bohemian Highway for approximately 2.5 miles. A LandPaths sign will be pointing into the entrance.
We will meet at the gate and then proceed to drive up closer to the project site.
What to Bring:
Picnic lunch, snacks & water, backpack
Sturdy boots or shoes that can get muddy
Work gloves, eye protection
Hat and sun screen
Facemask and hand sanitizer
Details Details:
You will be asked to sign a liability waiver.
There is a porta-potty on the property
There is no potable water available on the property.
No pets or smoking are permitted.

¡Dale una mano a la naturaleza! ¡Ven y únete a nosotros en la impresionante Reserva Ecológica Bohemia de 1,000 acres para un día de administración, construcción de comunidad, un poco de ejercicio y algo de diversión! Este día de trabajo nos centraremos en quitar la retamilla francesa. Esta especie invasora supera a nuestras plantas nativas del sotobosque y agrega la escalera de combustible. Al eliminarlo, estamos ayudando a nuestras plantas nativas y reduciendo el riesgo de un incendio en el dosel.
No se requiere experiencia. LandPaths proporcionará otras herramientas necesarias. Si tiene herramientas en casa, puede traerlas. ¡Sin herramientas eléctricas, por favor!
