Stewardship Workday at the Riddell Preserve

9am-1pm (volunteers may leave earlier but must arrive on time)

LandPaths is excited to invite volunteers to help us care for the land while exploring the beautiful Riddell Preserve, a 400-acre wonderland above Dry Creek with magnificent native grasslands, pure madrone stands, redwood fairy rings, and perennial springs. This workday we will focus on reestablishing a trail that got bulldozed during the Walbridge Fire.
This event will occur in light drizzle, but a torrential rainstorm will cancel. Please call 707-544-7284 (then press 1) after 7am the morning of the event if it is questionable. If there is no cancellation notice, the event is on.
No experience necessary but the workday will require light hiking over uneven terrain.
At LandPaths we will continue to offer connections with the land and each other in creative ways, while rigorously following local Covid-19 safety protocols and policies. Where & When:
We will meet at 9:00 am at the parking lot of the Healdsburg Corporation Yard at 550 Westside Rd, Healdsburg, CA 95448. Once everyone arrives we will caravan to the preserve
Directions to the Corporation Yard parking lot-
From Highway 101 North, take the Central Healdsburg Exit. and make a slight left on Healdsburg Avenue. Turn left onto Mill Street. Continue under the highway overpass as Mill Street turns into Westside Road. The Corporation Yard parking lot will be on the left immediately before the bridge crossing at the intersection of Westside Rd and Lucius Way. There is a "Corporation Yard" sign at the entrance to the parking lot.
From Highway 101 South, take the Westside Exit and turn right on Westside Rd. The Corporation Yard parking lot will be on the left immediately before the bridge crossing at the intersection of Westside Rd and Lucius Way.
What to Bring:
Picnic lunch, snacks & plenty of water, backpack to hold your gear
Sturdy boots or shoes that can get muddy
Long pants recommended
Your own workgloves
Hat and sun screen
Hand sanitizer and mask
Details Details:
There will be a handwashing station available.
Hike in to project site is ~ .6 mile round trip up a steep but well graded trail.
You will be asked to sign a liability waiver.
There is no restroom onsite
There is no potable water available on the property.
No pets or smoking are permitted.

LandPaths se complace en invitar a voluntarios para que nos ayuden a cuidar la tierra mientras exploramos la hermosa Reserva Riddell, un logar maravilloso de 400 acres sobre Dry Creek con magníficas praderas nativas, rodales de madroños puros, anillos de hadas de secuoyas y manantiales perennes. Este día de trabajo nos centraremos en restablecer un sendero que fue arrasado durante el incendio de Walbridge.
Este evento ocurrirá con una llovizna ligera, pero una tormenta torrencial se cancelará. Llame al 707-544-7284 (luego presione 1) después de las 7 am la mañana del evento si tiene dudas. Si no hay aviso de cancelación, el evento comienza.
No se necesita experiencia, pero la dia de trabajo requerirá caminatas ligeras sobre terrenos irregulares.

Detalles Detalles:
Habrá una estación para lavarse las manos.
La caminata hasta el sitio del proyecto es de ~ .8 millas de ida y vuelta por un sendero empinado, pero bien nivelado.
Se le pedirá que firme una exención de responsabilidad.
No hay baños en el lugar.
No hay agua potable disponible en la propiedad.
No se permiten mascotas ni fumar.
