Yellow Star Thistle (http://www.cal-ipc.org/ip/management/yst.php) is an invasive species that has the ability to severely outcompete native grassland species.  Each plant can disperse up to 35,000 seeds per year.  That's why it is really important to remove yellow star thistle before it spreads its seed. We removed all known plants last year for the first time ever which means that we are getting close to complete eradication from the preserve. We could really use your help to reach the goal of complete removal for a 2nd year! Volunteers can come and go during the week as they are available.
