Come make history with LandPaths! During the next two years, LandPaths is installing a brand spankin' new trail system and you can be a part of it. New trails will be used for LandPaths educational and outings programs. By helping build these trails, you will be a part of the Riddell Preserve forever! Trail work includes brushing vegetation, bench cutting, building structures, and clearing dirt off the trail. There are tasks for everyone!

Beginner's Birding Walk: BYOB (Bring Your Own Binoculars!)

Join us for a morning of beginner's birding at Bohemia Ecological Preserve. Please note: This is not a hike, but a slow walk. We will walk the property slowly, looking for and observing all the birds we encounter. However, for those with mobility issues, please be aware that we will be walking up a steep gravel road. This is a birding walk geared toward beginners, but all skill levels are welcome. We will share tips on using binoculars, teach techniques for locating birds, point out bird vocalizations, and share bird ID field marks for some of the common winter and year-round species. We want to inspire participants to get out and appreciate the bird world!

New Docent Training: Bohemia Ecological Preserve

Wildlife ecologist Meghan Walla-Murphy and historical ecologist Arthur Dawson are joining together to tell a holistic story of our beloved mountain.  Walk with us amongst the spring wildflowers and share meals under the stars.

Families of all ages are invited to join LandPaths on a 2-day Trek beginning and ending at Shell Beach. From the coast we will walk five miles inland to a secluded privately owned ranch on the edge of Willow Creek State Park for an overnight of camping, storytelling, good food and a starry night around a fire. Families will be able to wander, play, and relax along the beautiful salmon-bearing Willow Creek. After a leisurely Sunday morning families will hike back to the coast over our beautiful coastal hills and through spring flowers.
